A Financial Wellness Movement by WCE
Chai, Charkha aur Paisa is not just a program—it’s a movement rooted in the spirit of grassroots conversations, economic independence, and collective wisdom. Inspired by India’s tradition of community gatherings and Gandhian philosophy of self-reliance (the charkha), this initiative by WCE creates safe, informal spaces where women come together to talk about money, growth, and empowerment.
Over a cup of chai, under a tree, in a classroom, or at a community center—we bring finance to where the women are. No jargon. No pressure. Just real conversations about real challenges—and practical solutions for financial freedom.
Why This Matters
Despite being at the heart of household economics, many women shy away from personal finance, business investment, or digital banking due to:
- Lack of access
- Fear of making mistakes
- Dependence on male family members
- Social taboos or low confidence
Chai, Charkha aur Paisa breaks these barriers through storytelling, peer learning, and financial tools that are simple, actionable, and culturally resonant.
Program Highlights
Chai Circles (Baithaks)
Local community meetups where women gather to talk money over chai. These are informal, friendly spaces with financial experts, bankers, and peer mentors facilitating candid discussions.
The Charkha Philosophy
Symbolizing self-reliance and sustainability, the charkha reminds us that every rupee saved or invested wisely spins a stronger future. We use this metaphor to teach women how small, steady steps can build financial resilience.
